Undoubtedly, Snapchat is one of the best platforms in social media today. Some of Snapchat’s unique features like ‘stories’ and photo visual effects are so trending that Facebook and Instagram had to mimic it. But, what if you can apply for a job using a simple snap? This is an innovation for job application process that may have a big impact in the future of hiring applicants. Recently, McDonald’s Australia launched “Snaplications” which enables people to apply for a job via Snap.

How it works:

  1. Activate the crew lens
  • You just have to scan the code of the sponsored lens to activate the crew lens. Take a snap of yourself.
  1. Introduce yourself
  • Snaps are limited to 10 seconds, so you have to make the most out of it to introduce yourself. That makes it interesting and challenging at the same time.
  1. Snap the company to apply
  • Send your Snaplication to @companyusername and you will get a link to the company’s career site to complete the application process.

Snapchat recently reported that they have more than 4 million daily active users in Australia. McDonald’s which employs around 106,000 Australians will surely benefit from this innovative job application process. Snaplication is really a big idea as it utilizes the opportunity to use the power of social media’s audience reach.

Soon, there will be more brilliant ideas that are going to come up using these social platforms. This could be a glimpse of the future of job application processes.
