Audience Network expands to reach non-Facebook users, Facebook to close down LiveRail.

LiveRail is a monetization platform made by Facebook for developers, publishers and broadcasters. [1] It connects marketers to publishers on both mobile and web. According to Facebook’s blog post, “LiveRail also helps marketers by providing them with access to premium video inventory and the information that they need in order to decide where to show their ads.” [2] And, they also stated that LiveRail offers complete advertising solutions to publishers.

But just this week, Facebook has announced that they will be closing LiveRail ad Exchange to focus on Audience Network. [3] “We are discontinuing the LiveRail Private Exchange to focus on finding better ways for publishers to sell their ad space directly to advertisers, as well as expanding our video ad offering via Audience Network,” said a Facebook spokeswoman on The Wall Street Journal. [4]
