Facebook brings Dynamic Ads to Instagram and Travel brands

Instagram (and Travel brand) ads are about to get real personal. Facebook has recently announced that Dynamic Ads, which lets advertisers promote items from an entire catalog on any device and displays your ads to the right audience, will be coming to Instagram in the coming months.

Now before we get on this topic, what exactly are Dynamic Ads and how do they work?

As stated above, Facebook’s Dynamic Ads enables advertisers to promote their products from their catalogs across any device. You can choose to make it appear on Facebook, Instagram or both.

This post on Facebook for Business discusses how it would work for Instagram:

“Dynamic adverts automate product advertising by showing people adverts featuring items that they've expressed interest in, either by viewing them or adding them to their basket, or items related to ones that they've shown interest in or purchased. And now, businesses using Dynamic adverts can easily connect with more potential customers on mobile.” [1]

With this feature, people who visited your website and Instagram will receive the product ads from your catalog.

“Instagram started with brand advertising, and now we’re doing direct response,” says Susan Buckner, Facebook’s market operations manager at Instagram. “We saw comments on [Instagram] posts, ‘Where can I find this?’ We’re helping people get more relevant ads.”[2]

The Facebook for Business post also talks about the dynamic ads options for Travel brands:

“Advertisers can now also help people complete their trips by showing relevant hotels to people who have purchased flights on their website or in their application.” [3]

Facebook says that dynamic adverts are currently being tested with several advertisers and they will provide more updates when the travel adverts are widely available on Facebook, Instagram and Audience Network

“Dynamic adverts for travel allow us to target our messages in the right context across devices. We jumped at the opportunity to be the first in our industry and evolve our messaging from a single transaction at one point in time to an ongoing guest relationship that drives more in-depth engagement for a longer period of time." – says Karin Timpone, Global Marketing Officer of Marriott International, One of the first companies to utilize Dynamic Ads for Travel brands.

The new updates will surely help advertisers to sell more effectively and efficiently on Facebook, and now also on Instagram and Travel brands. Advertisers can use these platforms to promote their ads and influence people to buy the products that interest them.
